Our Affiliate Director

Lynn Buckmaster

Lynn has been Wisconsin's Primary Affiliate Director since 2012. She has been involved in Wisconsin Future Problem Solving since its inception in 1981 as coach (Global Issues, Community Projects, Creative Writing), state and international evaluator, Future Scene writer, and workshop facilitator.  Lynn is currently retired after 25 years of teaching various subjects to elementary and middle school students.  "FPS has  been one of my greatest experiences.  It has introduced me to many empowering creative and critical thinking strategies that I continue to use personally."

David Buerger

President

David started his FPS career as a Global Issues team member in 1994.  He became a state evaluator in 1997 and continues today.  He is currently an attorney for the Wisconsin Ethics Commission. "FPS taught me to look at problems critically and creatively.  I also learned a lot about working with a team and how to communicate effectively."

Kris Bauer

Vice President

Before retiring, Kris taught FPS to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for over 20 years.  She continues to coach Global issues teams and Creative Writing in Madison, and she has had many winning state and international teams and individuals. "FPS has introduced me to problem solving strategy and many different topics.  It has stretched me as a teacher because it is a unique program that is always changing with new topics."

Dan Jonovic

Secretary/Treasurer

Dan's FPS experience began in 5th grade when he participated as a student on a Global Issues team.   He continued in the Future Problem Solving Program through 12th grade, and has served as one of our state evaluators.  He currently works at EPIC as an integration engineer.  "FPS has helped develop my critical thinking skills and ability to process information in a short period of time.  As an evaluator, it proved my ability to give feedback to students."

Hannah Creager

Hannah began her career in FPS as a student in 6th grade.  She has been on Global Issues teams that earned state and international awards.  Hannah receiver her PhD in microbiology at Emory University in Atlanta.  She is currently working as assistant director of clinical microbiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and assistant professor of pathology at the University of Pittsburgh.  "FPS not only nurtured my critical thinking and writing skills, but also connected me with a great group of peers during my middle and high school years."

Stephanie Hooyman

Stephanie is a French teacher in the Appleton Area School District where she has been coaching FPS since 2012.  She has enjoyed diving into interesting topics each year with her students.  "FPS helps our students develop creative and critical thinking skills that they will use while exploring futuristic situations that are oriented in real life.  FPS helps students foster skills such as teamwork, communication, and research that they will use to adapt to an ever-changing world."

Tammy Greco

As a biology professor, Tammy had the honor of teaching students who had been schooled in programs like FPS because they were more interested in asking questions than being told answers.  "We can get more done working together in teams while getting input from informed and helpful people.  I'm excited to be a part of the FPS organization and, with great hope, watch this next generation learn and tackle challenges that lie ahead.  We may not know what the future holds, but we know there will be plenty of problems to solve."

Michael Noguera

Michael participated in Global Issues  for many years., winning awards at both the state and international level.  He graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and is currently attending grad school at the University of Illinois in Urbana in the field of computer science.

Aimie Rognsvoog

Aimie has been a teacher in the Milwaukee Public School for over 25 years.  Working in middle school, she was introduced to Future Problem Solving for the first time through a co-teacher.  Aimie took over the coaching role at IDEAL School in 2011.  She wanted to continue to learn more and thus became a state evaluator in 2011.  "I love that FPS challenges students to think critically and creatively."

Mansi Shah

Mansi Shah is the Director of Parts Sales and Business Development at CMD, bringing over 15 years of experience in product management, marketing, and strategic leadership. In her role, she drives key initiatives centered on continuous improvement, change management, and both long- and short-term growth strategies.  A dedicated mentor and coach, Mansi is passionate about developing future leaders and empowering teams to reach their full potential. Through FPS, she aims to inspire the next generation to strengthen their critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and leadership skills—all essential qualities for success in today’s dynamic world.

Our Student Advisory Board Members

Abhinav Anasamudram

Absinav is going into his 5th year of Future Problem Solvers. He joined FPS because he loved that it inspired futuristic thinking and collaboration towards a better tomorrow. As a member of the Middleton High School FPS Leadership Board, he has worked towards inspiring the next generation of Future Problem Solvers just as he was, and looks forward to working as a Student Representative for this year’s Wisconsin FPS State Board. 

Annabel Goldberger

Annabel is a senior at Middleton High School entering her eighth year participating in FPS. She has competed in both Global Issues Problem Solving and Scenario Writing, earning awards at the State and International levels for her writing. Annabel is serving two years on MHS FPS' leadership board, and loves teaching new members the six-step process and seeing the creativity that everyone displays with their ideas.
